I Samuel 25.1
The Death, Burial, and Legacy of Samuel
After a years-long self-enforced silence, Samuel died in the midst of the turmoil that had overtaken the national life of Israel. For a day, all parties left their conflicts aside to mourn the loss of the prophet. Even those who had never listened to him paid tribute to him in death. In fact, Samuel's entire life had been one of proclaiming truth and righteousness to men who would not listen. Nevertheless, he left a legacy of faithful, obedient, fearless, persevering service to God.
