Genesis 3:14-24
Why Adam Didn't Die That Day
God had warned Adam that in the day he ate of the fruit of the tree he would surely die. It is all well and good to say that he underwent a spiritual death, but is that really all that God had threatened? In fact, Adam escaped the full wrath of God that day. Closer examination of God's words and actions tell us why. God chose the moment of the fall to first unveil his grand plan of salvation, and Adam's sentence of death was put off, both on account of the promised redemption and in order that the redeemer might come among men.
